What does direct primary care mean at Sunshine?
With Direct Primary Care, you pay Sunshine Medical a recurring membership fee for ongoing primary care instead of paying the practice through insurance for each covered visit.
Your Sunshine membership includes:
Physician Primary-Care Visits
Virtual visits with your physician when clinically appropriate, with no additional per-visit charge.
Appropriate Acute Care
Evaluation and treatment of many new illnesses and concerns that can safely be managed through virtual care.
RN-Supported Follow-Up
Education, monitoring, results follow-up, and care coordination with your registered nurse.
Preventive Care
Health-risk review, recommended screenings, preventive planning, and ongoing wellness guidance.
Medication Management
Medication review, prescription management, and routine refill assessment when medically appropriate.
Lab & Imaging Coordination
Orders when medically appropriate, review of results, and guidance on next steps.
Chronic-Condition Management
Ongoing primary-care management for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, weight and metabolic concerns, and other appropriate conditions.
Secure Member Messaging
Non-urgent communication with your care team between scheduled appointments.
Specialist & Referral Coordination
Help coordinating specialty care and incorporating outside recommendations into your ongoing primary care.

Membership covers primary-care services provided by Sunshine Medical. Members should maintain appropriate health insurance or other coverage for services outside the practice, including:

Every Sunshine Medical membership includes physician-led virtual primary care visits, preventive care and health planning, chronic-condition management, secure care-team messaging, medication management when appropriate, lab and imaging coordination, results review, and RN-supported follow-up.
Membership does not include the cost of prescription medications, laboratory testing, imaging, specialist care, emergency care, or hospital services. These outside services may have separate charges.

Founder
Courtney Campbell, MD
I’m Dr. Courtney Campbell, a board-certified Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine physician. I became a doctor because I love learning, but my patients have taught me that good medicine is just as much about listening. I want you to understand what’s happening with your health, feel comfortable asking questions, and know that your goals and concerns matter when we make decisions together. Sunshine Medical grew from my desire to practice medicine in a way that leaves room for those relationships—to know my patients as people, not just diagnoses. My hope is that being part of Sunshine feels a little like having a doctor in the family: someone you know, trust, and can turn to when you need help figuring out what comes next.

Travis Campbell, RN
I’m Travis, a registered nurse with a background in cardiovascular critical care and travel nursing. I’ve spent much of my nursing career caring for people during some of the most serious and frightening moments of their lives, and it taught me that the way we listen, explain, and show up for people matters just as much as the tasks we perform. Before nursing, I was also a teacher, so helping people understand things has always been part of who I am. At Sunshine Medical, I want patients to feel comfortable reaching out, asking the small questions, and actually understanding their health and care plan.
